We started because mobile search was breaking businesses
Beluxentis launched in 2015 when local shops couldn't figure out why their websites disappeared from phone searches. We turned that confusion into a nationwide learning platform.
Built from real problems, not theories
Our founders spent years watching skilled business owners lose customers to competitors who just happened to understand mobile search better.
2015: The mobile panic hits South Africa
Google flipped the switch on mobile-first indexing and half the small businesses we knew just vanished from search results overnight. Their desktop sites looked fine, but phones showed broken layouts, tiny text, impossible navigation.
The expensive agencies wanted contracts these businesses couldn't afford. The cheap tutorials assumed knowledge nobody had. We saw the gap and built Beluxentis to fill it.
Teaching what actually works
We stripped away the jargon and focused on outcomes. Our first course took a furniture maker in Cape Town from invisible on mobile to ranking third for local searches in six weeks. She implemented what we taught during lunch breaks.
That approach became our foundation. No abstract theories, no alphabet soup of acronyms. Just specific techniques you can apply the same day you learn them, with results you can measure the following week.
Platform launch
Started with twelve students in a Johannesburg co-working space. Taught mobile SEO basics using borrowed laptops and real business websites as case studies.
National expansion
Opened remote learning options after requests from Durban, Port Elizabeth, and Pretoria. Built our first proper curriculum with sequential modules instead of standalone workshops.
Industry recognition
Former students started teaching their own teams using our methods. We formalized the certification program and added advanced optimization tracks for technical implementations.
Full curriculum overhaul
Rebuilt everything around Core Web Vitals and mobile page experience updates. Added video content, interactive debugging sessions, and live site audits to the learning format.
Active nationwide platform
Running continuous enrollment with students from every major South African city. Course updates happen quarterly to match Google's mobile algorithm shifts and new ranking factors.
Sibusiso Khumalo
Co-Founder & Technical Director
Former mobile app developer who got tired of fixing other people's broken responsive designs. Spent three years debugging why e-commerce sites lost sales on phones before realizing education solved more problems than consulting ever could.
Anja Pretorius
Co-Founder & Content Strategy Lead
Built her first website in 2008 and watched mobile traffic grow from five percent to seventy percent of total visits. Focuses on making technical concepts accessible without dumbing them down or hiding the complexity that matters.
Why mobile SEO specifically
Because it's the difference between being found and being forgotten. Desktop optimization matters, but eighty-two percent of South African internet users access the web primarily through phones. If your site fails on mobile, you've lost most of your potential audience before they even see your content.
We teach the specific technical implementations that Google's mobile crawlers actually evaluate. Page speed optimization, touch-friendly navigation, viewport configuration, structured data for rich results. The practical stuff that changes rankings, not the theory that sounds impressive in presentations.
